通信英语大作业 英文原文 SimultaneousMeasurementofStrainandTemperatureIncorporatingaLong-PeriodFiberGratingInscribedonaPolarization-MaintainingFiberAbstract—Simultaneousmeasurementofstrainandtemperaturewasdemonstratedbyusingalong-periodfibergratinginscribedonapolarization-maintainingfiber(PM-LPG).ThespectralsensitivitiesofthetwoadjacentresonantdipsofthePM-LPGweremeasuredwithrespecttostrainandtemperature.Thesensitivitiesofeachresonantdipforstrainandtemperatureweredifferentinmagnitudeandsign,whichmakesthisPM-LPGhaveacapabilityofsimultaneouslysensingstrainandtemperature.Experimentalresultsshowrootmeansquaredeviationsof15.6and0.7Cforstrainandtemperature,respectively.IndexTerms—Long-periodfibergrating(LPG),opticalfibersensor,polarization-maintainingfiber(PMF),strain,temperature.I.INTRODUCTIONFIBERGRATINGsensorshaveyieldedgreatattentionduetotheirsignificantadvantagessuchaswavelengthdomainresponse,electromagneticnoiseimmunity,highsensitivity,compactness,simplicityoffabrication,etc.Theyhavebeenusedforhealthmonitoringandspatialanalysisofengineeringstructures.Oneofthemostsignificantlimitationsoffibergratingsensorsistheirdualsensitivitytostrainandtemperature.Therefore,agreatmanyeffortshavebeenmadetodiscriminatethewavelengthshiftproducedbystrainfromthatproducedbytemperature[1]–[4],amongwhicharethetwofiberBragggratings(FBGs)embeddedinaglasstube[3]andasingleFBGwritteninanerbium:ytterbium-dopedfiber[4].Recently,Chenetal.[5]reportedthattheFBGwrittenonahighbirefringencefibercanbeincorporatedforthesimultaneousmeasurementofstrainandtemperature.TheysimultaneouslymeasuredstrainandtemperaturebymeasuringwavelengthshiftsoftwoBraggwavelengthsintheFBGwhichhavedifferentresponsestostrainandtemperaturewithrespecttothetwoprincipalinputpolarizationsalignedalongthefastandslowaxesofthefiber.ButthedifferencesbetweeneachresponseoftheFBGtostrainandtemperatureateachBraggwavelengthwerenotsolarge,whichmightrestricttheaccuracyofthesensor.Inthisletter,wedemonstratesimultaneousmeasurementofthestrainandt
