Introduction: Gasexplosionsoccurduetotherapidreleaseandignitionofflammablegases,resultinginahighlyacceleratedcombustionprocess.Suchexplosionsproduceshockwavesthatcancausedestructiontonearbystructuresandendangerhumanlife.Theuseofpassiveprotectionsystems,suchasmetallicmesh,hasgainedattentionasapotentialmethodtosuppressthepropagationofshockwaves.Thispaperpresentstheexperimentalstudythatinvestigatestheeffectivenessofmetallicmeshinreducingtheimpactofgasexplosionshockwaveswithinpipes.
