北太平洋地区波流相互作用中的天气尺度Rossby波破碎问题 【Abstract】 Rossbywavesarethemainformofplanetarywavesintheatmosphereandplayavitalroleinthelarge-scaleweathersystems.However,thebreakingproblemofRossbywavesattheweatherscalehasalwaysbeenachallengeinresearch.IntheNorthPacificregion,theinteractionbetweenwaveandcurrentmaycontributetotheoccurrenceofRossbywavebreaking.ThispaperreviewedthecurrentunderstandingoftheRossbywavebreakingmechanismintheNorthPacificregionanddiscussedthepotentialimpactonweathersystems,providingsomeinsightsforfurtherresearch. 【Introduction】 Rossbywavesareatypeofwaveintheatmospherethatisformedwhentheairflowisperturbedfromitsbalancedstateandbeginstooscillate.Thesewavescanpropagateverticallyandhorizontallyandarecriticalforthedevelopmentoflarge-scaleweatherpatterns,suchascyclonesandanticyclones.However,thebreakingofRossbywavesattheweatherscaleisacomplexandchallengingproblemthathasnotbeenfullyunderstood. IntheNorthPacificregion,theinteractionbetweenwaveandcurrentisoneofthefactorsthatcontributetotheoccurrenceofRossbywavebreaking.Strongcurrentsmayaltertheshapeandstrengthofthewave,leadingtoitsbreakingandtheformationofsmallerscales.UnderstandingthemechanismofRossbywavebreakingisessentialforpredictingweathersystemsandclimatechangeinthisregion. 【Rossbywavebreakingmechanism】 TheRossbywavebreakingmechanismisrelatedtothenonlinearinteractionbetweenwavesandatmosphericflow.Strongcurrentscanproducevortices,whichcanmodifytheshapeandstrengthofthewavethroughaprocesscalledmodulation.Ifthemodulationexceedsacertainthreshold,thewavewillbreakandproducesmaller-scaleeddies. Themechanismofwavedeformationandbreakinghasbeenstudiedusinganalyticalandnumericalmodels.ThesemodelshaveshownthatRossbywavebreakingcanoccurindifferentforms,suchasbreaking,shearinstability,andfrontalinstability.Breakingtypicallyoccurswhenthewaveamplitudebecomestoolarge,leadingtoenergytransfertosmallerscales.Shearinstabilityoccurswhenthewaveisdistortedbytheshearflow,whilefrontalinstabilityoccurswhenthewaveinteractswithafrontorbounda
