Introduction: Silenceintheclassroomisacommonissueexperiencedbymanyteachers,particularlyinthecontextofEnglishlanguagelearning.Studentsilencenotonlyaffectsindividuallearningopportunitiesbutalsohamperstheoveralldynamicsoftheclassroom.Assuch,itisvitaltoinvestigatethefactorsthatcontributetothisphenomenonanddevelopstrategiestoovercomethem.ThisresearchstudyaimstoidentifyandunderstandthesefactorstoimprovethelearningenvironmentinjuniorhighschoolEnglishclasses. LiteratureReview: Numerousstudieshavebeenconductedtoexplorethefactorsinfluencingstudentsilenceinvariouseducationalsettings.Previousresearchindicatesthatanxietyisasignificantcontributortostudentsilence.Studentsoftenfearjudgmentfromtheirpeersandteachers,leadingtoalackofparticipationandareluctancetospeakupinclass.Additionally,lowself-confidenceandthefearofmakingmistakesfurtherdeterstudentsfromengagingactivelyinclassroomdiscussions.Theteacher-studentrelationship,classroomenvironment,andculturalfactorshavealsobeenidentifiedaspotentialelementsimpactingstudentsilence.Thesefactorssetthefoundationfortheanalysisandinvestigationinthisresearchstudy.
