Introduction: Thedepletionoffossilfuelsandtheincreasingconcernsregardingenvironmentalpollutionhavestimulatedthesearchforalternativeandsustainableenergysources.Theconversionoflignocellulosicbiomassintobiofuelshasemergedasapromisingsolutionduetoitsinherentadvantagessuchasabundantavailability,lowcarbonemission,andrenewablenature. Lignocellulosicbiomass,derivedfromplantcellwalls,primarilyconsistsofcellulose,hemicellulose,andlignin.Celluloseandhemicellulosearecomplexpolysaccharidesthatcanbeenzymaticallyhydrolyzedintosimplesugars.Thesesugarscanthenbemetabolizedbymicroorganismstoproducevariousvaluableproducts,includingoil.
