Introduction Prefabricatedconstructiontechnologyhasbeengainingpopularityinrecentyearsasitpromoteshighefficiency,low-cost,andstandardizedbuildingmaterials.Steelisacommonmaterialusedintypeofconstructionbecauseofitslightweight,strength,andabilitytobewelded.However,duetoitslowductility,steelstructuresarevulnerabletoearthquakes,whichcancausesignificantdamagetotheconstructionandpotentialharmtotheoccupants.Oneofthecriticalelementsinseismic-resistantsteelstructuresisdiagonalbracingsinceitcanreducethedeformationandcontrolthedynamicresponseofthestructuralsystems.BucklingRestrainedBrace(BRB)isatypeofdiagonalbracingthathasbeenwidelyusedinrecentyearsduetoitsexcellentseismicperformance.ThispaperaimstoexploretheeffectivenessofusingBRBsinprefabricateddiagonalbracingnodesteelframestructurestoenhanceearthquakeresistance. LiteratureReview BRBshavebeenwidelyusedinsteelstructurestowithstandearthquakessincetheycanprovidestableenergydissipationduringseismicevents.ExperimentalstudiesconductedbyFurukawaetal.(2011)indicatedthatBRBscaneffectivelyreducethedeformationofstructures,haveexcellentenergydissipationcapabilitiesandhighductility.ThemechanicalpropertiesofBRBsareduetotheirrestrainedbucklingmechanism,whichenhancestheoverallstrengthofthestructure.
