Methodology: Thermogravimetricanalysis(TGA)isawidelyusedtechniquetodeterminethecompositionofcomplexsubstancesbasedonchangesinmassasafunctionoftemperature.Itinvolvesthecontinuousmeasurementofweightchangesofasampleasitissubjectedtocontrolledtemperatureincreaseinanoxidizingatmosphere.TheTGAmethodwillbeemployedtomeasurethecokecontentintheMTOcatalyst. ExperimentalProcedure: 1.SamplePreparation:ObtainarepresentativesampleoftheMTOcatalystandensureitshomogeneity. 2.TGAInstrumentSetup:CalibratetheTGAinstrumentaccordingtothemanufacturer'sinstructions.Ensureallsystemparameters,suchassampleweight,heatingrate,gasflowrate,andatmosphere,areproperlyset. 3.SampleLoading:Accuratelyweighthesample(typically10-20mg)usingananalyticalbalanceandloaditontotheTGAsamplepan. 4.HeatingProgram:SetuptheTGAthermalprogramtorampupthetemperaturefromroomtemperaturetoadesiredendpoint(e.g.,1000°C)ataconstantrate. 5.DataAcquisition:StarttheTGAinstrumentandrecordthecontinuousdataofthesampleweightlossasafunctionoftemperature. 6.DataAnalysis:AnalyzetheTGAcurveobtainedbyplottingmassloss(%)againsttemperaturetodeterminethecokecontentintheMTOcatalyst.
