Introduction: Soapnut(SapindusmukorossiGaertn.),alsoknownassoapberryorwashingnuts,isatropicaltreenativetoSoutheastAsia.Itproducesfruitscontainingsoap-likecompoundsthathavebeentraditionallyusedforlaundryandpersonalhygienepurposes.Soapnutkerneloil,obtainedfromtheseeds,hasgainedattentionforitspotentialapplicationsinthefood,pharmaceutical,andcosmeticindustriesduetoitshighcontentofbeneficialfattyacidsandbioactivecompounds. Methods: 1.SoapnutSeedPreparation:Soapnutseedswerecollected,cleaned,dried,andgroundintoafinepowderusingagrinder. 2.ExtractionProcessOptimization:Responsesurfacemethodology(RSM)wasusedtooptimizetheextractionprocess.Acentralcompositedesign(CCD)wasemployed,andtheextractionparameters,includingsolventtype,solvent-to-solidratio,extractiontime,andtemperature,werevaried.Theyieldofoilwasconsideredastheresponsevariable,whichwasanalyzedusingDesign-Expertsoftware. 3.PhysicochemicalPropertyDetermination:Thephysicochemicalpropertiesoftheextractedsoapnutkerneloilweredetermined.Theacidvalue,peroxidevalue,saponificationvalue,iodinevalue,andfattyacidcompositionwereanalyzedaccordingtostandardmethods.
