Introduction Axialflowpumpsarewidelyusedinvariousindustries,suchaswatersupply,powergeneration,andchemicalmanufacturing,duetotheirhighefficiencyandflowcapacity.However,theoccurrenceofcavitationinaxialflowpumpscanhaveadverseeffectsontheirperformanceandcausedamagetotheircomponents.Cavitationisaphenomenonthatoccurswhenthepressureofthefluidfallsbelowthevaporpressure,wherevaporbubblesareformedintheliquidflow.Whenthesebubblesmovetoaregionofhigherpressure,theycanimplode,leadingtohigh-pressureshockwavesanderosivedamagetothepumpcomponents. CFDsimulationisaneffectivemethodforpredictingthebehavioroffluidflowsandtheoccurrenceofcavitationinpumps,whichcanhelpinthedesignandoptimizationofpumpcomponentsandimprovetheirreliabilityandefficiency.TheFBMmodelisawell-knownturbulencemodelthathasbeenproventobeaccurateinsimulatingfluidflowswithcomplexgeometriesandshearflows.
