Introduction: Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)isabiopolymersynthesizedbymicroorganismsforenergystorageandenvironmentaladaptability.Itssemi-crystallinenatureandmechanicalpropertiesmakeitanexcellentcandidateforvariousapplications.However,therelationshipbetweenitsmolecularstructureandmacroscopicpropertiesisnotwellunderstood.Inthisstudy,solid-stateNMRspectroscopyisemployedtoelucidatethemoleculardynamicsofthesepolymersandthecorrelationwiththeircrystallineandamorphousphases. Methodology: PHBV3andPHBV5sampleswerepreparedusingasolventcastingmethod.Thesampleswerecharacterizedusingsolid-stateNMRspectroscopywithdifferenttechniques,includingmagicanglespinning(MAS)NMR,cross-polarization,andspin-latticerelaxationmeasurements.TheNMRparameterswereobtainedtoanalyzethemoleculardynamicsandmotionalprocesses.
