Introduction Polyurethane(PU)isaversatilepolymerwidelyusedinvariousfieldsduetoitsexcellentmechanicalproperties,goodchemicalresistance,andeaseofprocessing.However,thepoorelectricalconductivityandthermalstabilityofPUlimititsapplicationsincertainfields,suchasinelectronicpackagingandaerospace.Carbonnanotubes(CNTs)havebeenrecognizedasaneffectivefillermaterialtoimprovethepropertiesofpolymersduetotheirextraordinarymechanical,electrical,andthermalproperties.Therefore,theincorporationofCNTsinpolyurethanematrixcangreatlyimproveitspropertiesandexpanditspotentialapplications.Inthisstudy,carbonnanotube-polyurethanecompositematerialswerepreparedbyasimplecastingandcuringprocess,andthepropertiesofthecompositematerialswereinvestigated. Experimental Materials Polyol(LupranateM20),isocyanate(MDI),andchainextender(Butanediol)wereobtainedfromBASF.Multi-walledcarbonnanotubes(MWNTs)werepurchasedfromNano-CInc.Thesolventsusedforsamplepreparationwereanalyticalgrade. Samplepreparation MWNTsweredispersedintetrahydrofuran(THF)bysonicationfor1hourtoformawell-dispersedsolution.ThePUprecursorsolutionwaspreparedbymixingthepolyolandisocyanatewithaweightratioof3:1,followedbyaddingthechainextender.DifferentcontentofMWNTs(0.5wt%,1.0wt%,1.5wt%,and2.0wt%)wereaddedintothePUprecursorsolutionunderconstantstirringtoformcompositematerials.Themixturewasstirredfor10minutestoensurehomogenousdispersionofMWNTs.Thenthemixturewastransferredtoamoldandcuredat120°Cfor24hourstoformthec
