海洋环流模式LICOM的GPU并行优化 Title:GPUParallelizationOptimizationfortheOceanCirculationModelLICOM Abstract: TheoceancirculationplaysacrucialroleinregulatingEarth'sclimatesystem,andunderstandingitsdynamicsisessentialforpredictingfutureclimatechanges.TheLICOM(Louvain-la-Neuvesea-Ice-oceanModel)isanoceancirculationmodelwidelyusedinclimateresearchandhasachievedremarkableresults.However,thecomputationaldemandsofLICOMareincreasingduetotheneedforhigherspatialresolutionsandlongersimulationdurations.Toaddressthesechallenges,GPUparallelizationoptimizationtechniquescanbeemployedtoleveragethemassiveparallelprocessingpowerofmodernGPUs.ThispaperexplorestheGPUparallelizationoptimizationforLICOManditsimpactonimprovingcomputationalefficiencyandacceleratingsimulations. 1.Introduction: Oceancirculationmodelssimulatethemovementofwatermasses,heat,andnutrientswithintheocean,capturinginteractionswiththeatmosphere,sea-ice,andlandsurface.Thesemodelscombinenumerousphysicalprocesses,suchaswindforcing,thermaleffects,andtopographicalfeatures,toaccuratelyrepresenttheocean'sbehavior.LICOM,developedbytheCatholicUniversityofLouvain,Belgium,isonesuchoceancirculationmodelwidelyusedforclimateresearchstudies.However,theincreasingcomputationalrequirementsnecessitatethedevelopmentofefficientparallelizationstrategiestoleveragetheavailablecomputationalresourcesfully. 2.GPUParallelization: GraphicsProcessingUnits(GPUs)haveemergedasapowerfulcomputingplatformduetotheirmassivelyparallelarchitecture.ToparallelizeLICOMonGPUs,ahybridparallelizationapproachcanbeemployed,wherebothdomaindecompositionandtask-basedparallelismareutilized.Domaindecompositiondividesthecomputationaldomainintosmallersubdomains,assigningeachsubdomaintoadifferentGPUthread,whiletask-basedparallelismallowsforparallelexecutionofindependenttaskswithineachsubdomain. 3.DataStructuresandMemoryManagement: EffectiveutilizationofGPUresourcesrequirescarefulconsiderationofdatastructuresandassociatedmemorymanagementstrategies.InLICOM,theoceanisrepresentedbya3Dgri
