TheobjectivesofthisstudyweretoinvestigatetheeffectofdifferentwatermanagementontheGSisoenzymeactivityandqualityofwheatindifferentorgans,includingroots,stems,andleaves.Twowheatvarietieswereused:“Baotai”and“Xinfen”.TheformeriswidelyusedintheflourmillingindustryinChinaandhasstrongglutenproperties,whilethelatterisnewandhasbeenshowntobemoredrought-tolerant. Materialsandmethods Experimentaldesign Theexperimentwassetupinacompletelyrandomizeddesignwiththreereplicatespertreatment.Twowheatvarietieswereplanted:“Baotai”and“Xinfen”.Fourtreatmentswereappliedduringthegrowingseason:control,moderatedroughttreatment(60%offieldcapacity),severedroughttreatment(30%offieldcapacity),andheavyirrigationtreatment(150%offieldcapacity).
