Keywords:ironandnitrogenco-doping,carbon-basedcatalysts,in-situpyrolysis,structurecontrol,oxygenreductionreaction,electrocatalyticperformance,fuelcells. 1.Introduction Asthedemandforrenewableenergysourcesincreases,fuelcellshaveemergedasapromisingtechnologyforenergyconversionduetotheirhighefficiencyandlowenvironmentalimpact.However,thesluggishoxygenreductionreaction(ORR)atthecathoderemainsakeybottleneckforthewidespreadcommercializationoffuelcells.Currently,Pt-basedcatalystsarethemosteffectiveORRelectrocatalysts,buttheirhighcostandlimitedavailabilityhindertheirpracticalapplication.Therefore,thedevelopmentofalternativeandcost-effectivecatalystswithcomparableorevensuperiorORRperformanceisofgreatimportance. 2.SynthesisofIronandNitrogenCo-DopedCarbonCatalysts Inthisstudy,anin-situpyrolysismethodwasemployedtosynthesizeironandnitrogenco-dopedcarboncatalysts.Theprocessinvolvesthepyrolysisofamixtureofacarbonprecursor,anironsource,andanitrogensourceataspecifictemperatureunderaninertatmosphere.Thecarbonprecursorcanbechosenfromvariousorganiccompounds,suchassugars,polymers,orbiomass.Similarly,theironandnitrogensourcescanbeselectedfromarangeofcompounds,includingironsaltsandamines.Thecompositionandratiooftheseprecursors,aswellasthepyrolysistemperatureandtime,canbeadjustedtoachievedesiredcata
