Introduction: Asphaltpavementiswidelyusedintransportationinfrastructureduetoitsadvantagesofeasymaintenance,lownoise,andgooddrivingcomfort.Theperformanceanddurabilityofasphaltpavementarecloselyrelatedtotheuniformityoftheasphaltmixture.Thenon-uniformityofthemixturecanleadtopoorpavementperformanceandfrequentmaintenance,whichwillincreasethecostofpavementconstructionandmaintenance.Therefore,accuratelyevaluatingtheuniformityofasphaltmixtureisofgreatsignificancetoensurethequalityanddurabilityofasphaltpavement. Intraditionalmethods,theuniformityofasphaltmixtureismainlyevaluatedbythevisualinspectionmethod.However,thismethodissubjectiveandpronetoerrors.Theuseofdigitalimageprocessingtechnologycaneffectivelysolvethisproblem.Inrecentyears,manyresearchershaveuseddigitalimageprocessingtechnologytoevaluatetheuniformityofasphaltmixture,andachievedgoodresults. Methodology: Theevaluationofasphaltmixtureuniformitybasedondigitalimageprocessingtechnologymainlyincludesthefollowingsteps: Step1:Samplepreparation Prepareacertainamountofasphaltmixtureaccordingtothedesignproportion,andthenmixituniformly.Takeasmallamountofmixturefromdifferentlocationsandpackthemintoacylindricalmoldwithadiameterof150mmandaheightof75mm.
