Thestudywasconductedontencylindersofmixturewithdifferentratiosofsandandsteelslag,rangingfrom0%to100%ofsteelslagcontent.Theresultsshowedthatthecompressivestrengthofthemixtureimprovedwithincreasingsteelslagcontentuntilacriticalpercentageof60%,wherethestrengththendecreasedgradually.Overall,thecompressivestrengthoftheconcretemixturecontainingsandandsteelslagwereimprovedcomparedtothecontrolmixturewithoutsteelslag. Steelslagisgeneratedinlargequantitiesworldwideandhasbeenusedasaggregatesinconcreteduetoitssimilarphysicalpropertiestoconventionalaggregates.Steelslagisalsoabundantandhasadvantagessuchashighdensity,betterabrasionresistance,andlowerpermeability,whichmakesitasustainablealternativeforconcrete.However,theinherentlowstrengthandpotentialtogeneratealkalisbetweentheslagandcementpaste,whichcanaffecttheconcreteperformance,arethemainlimitationsofsteelslagasaggregatesinconcrete.
