Introduction Thedesignandmaintenanceofparks,gardens,residentiallandscapes,andotheroutdoorspacesareessentialcomponentsofthefieldofhorticulture.Landscapearchitectureencompassesvariouselementssuchasplantselection,hardscapefeatures,waterfeatures,andsiteplanning.Theaimofthisresearchpaperistoprovideanoverviewoflandscapedesignandmanagementpractices.Thestudyseekstohighlighttheimportanceofeffectivemaintenancetechniquesinpreservingthebeautyandfunctionalityofoutdoorspaces. Plantselection Plantselectionisanessentialaspectoflandscapedesignasthechoiceofplantscaninfluencetheappearanceandsustainabilityoftheoutdoorspace.Designersmustconsiderfactorssuchaslight,soil,drainage,andclimatewhenselectingplantsforalandscape.Plantscanbeclassifiedaccordingtotheirform,texture,andcolor,witheachclassificationhavingaroleintheoverallaestheticsofthelandscape.Anexcellentlandscapedesignshouldcombineavarietyofplantforms,textures,andcolorstocreateanattractiveandfunctionaloutdoorspace. Hardscaping Hardscapinginvolvestheuseofhardmaterialssuchasstone,brick,andconcretetocreatepermanentfeaturesinalandscape.Hardscapingfeaturescanincludepatios,retainingwalls,walkways,andfountains.Thechoiceo
