Theaimofthispaperistodevelopacriterionfordeterminingthestiffnessuniformityofsingle-layersphericalshellstructuresbasedonnodeconfiguration.Thepaperisorganizedasfollows:Section2providesabriefoverviewofsingle-layersphericalshellstructuresandrelevantliterature.Section3proposesanewcriterionfordeterminingthestiffnessuniformitybasedonnodeconfiguration.Section4presentssimulationresultstovalidatetheproposedcriterion.Section5concludesthepaperanddiscussesimplicationsforfutureresearch. 2.LiteratureReview Single-layersphericalshellstructureshavebeenstudiedextensivelyintheliterature,bothintermsofanalyticalandnumericalmethods.Studieshaveshownthatnodeconfigurationplaysacrucialroleindeterminingthestructuralbehaviorofsphericalshellstructures.Forinstance,Wangetal.(2016)investigatedtheinfluenceofnodeconfigurationontheenergy-absorbingcapacityofsphericalshellstructuresunderlateralimpact.Theyfoundthatcertainnodeconfigurationsweremoreeffectiveinabsorbingenergythanothers. Lietal.(2018)conductedanumericalstudyonthebucklingbehaviorofsingle-layersphericalshellstructureswithdifferentnodeconfigurations.Theirresultsshowedthatthecriticalbucklingloadwasinfluencedbythegeometricalpropertiesofthenodeconfiguration.Similarly,Liuetal.(2019)conductedastudyonthedynamicstabilityofsingle-layersphericalshellstructuresunderblastloading.Theyconcludedthatnodeconfigurationsignificantlyinfluencedthedynamicresponseofthestructures.
