Severalstudieshavebeenconductedonresidualstressesincold-formedsteelmembers.Mostofthesestudiesfocusedonthin-walledmembers,astheirstressdistributionissignificantlydifferentfromthatofthick-walledmembers.However,inengineeringdesign,thick-walledsteelsectionsarewidelyusedinpracticalapplicationssuchasinstorageracks,steelframes,andstoragetanks.
