京杭大运河嘉兴段运河主题设施设计研究 Abstract TheGrandCanal,alsoknownastheBeijing-HangzhouGrandCanal,isaUNESCOWorldHeritageSiteandavitalpartofChina'shistoryandculture.ThecanalconnectsBeijinginthenorthtoHangzhouinthesouth,traversingover1,700kilometersandpassingthroughseveralcities,includingJiaxing.TheJiaxingsectionofthecanalisavitalpartofChina'stourismindustryandisvisitedbythousandsoftouristseveryyear.Therefore,thisresearchaimstoinvestigatethethemedesignoftheJiaxingsectionoftheBeijing-HangzhouGrandCanal. Introduction TheBeijing-HangzhouGrandCanalisamassivecanalsysteminChina,spanningover1,700kilometersinlength.ThecanalwasfirstconstructedduringtheSuiDynasty(581-618AD)andwascompletedduringtheYuanDynasty(1206-1368AD).ThecanalsystemhasbeenvitalforChina'seconomicandculturaldevelopmentandhasbecomeaUNESCOWorldHeritageSiteduetoitssignificantcontributiontoChina'shistoryandculture.Thecanalpassesthroughseveralcities,includingJiaxing,whichisacriticalaspectofthetourismindustryinthearea. TheJiaxingsectionofthecanalcoversanareaof105.5kilometersandfeaturessomeofthecanal'smostimpressivesights.Moreover,itisamongthemostpopulartouristattractionsinChinaandisvisitedbythousandsoftouristsannually.TheJiaxingsectionoftheBeijing-HangzhouGrandCanalwasdevelopedintoanational-levelscenicareain1992.Theareahasseentremendousdevelopmentsandrenovationstopromotetourismintheregion.However,thethemeofthecanalintheJiaxingsectionremainstobefullydevelopedandresearched,makingitasubjectofinterestformanystakeholders. ResearchObjective TheprimaryobjectiveofthisresearchistoinvestigatethethemedesignoftheBeijing-HangzhouGrandCanalintheJiaxingsection.Specifically,thestudyaimsto: 1.AnalyzethedevelopmenthistoryoftheBeijing-HangzhouGrandCanal,focusingontheJiaxingsection. 2.IdentifythecriticalfeaturesandscenicspotsintheJiaxingsectionofthecanal. 3.EvaluatethecurrentthemedesignoftheJiaxingsectionofthecanal. 4.DevelopanewthemeconceptforJiaxingsectionthatfitsthecharacteristicsoftheareaandmeetstheneedsoftourists.
