Introduction Constructionprojectsareknownfortheircomplexity,andmanagingthemsuccessfullyrequiresacomprehensiveorganizationofresources,includingmanagementoffinances,labor,material,equipment,andtime.However,evenwiththemostorganizedresources,constructionprojectsstillfacetheirfairshareofrisks.Theseriskscanincludeaccidents,naturaldisasters,projectdelays,andmaterialshortages.Duetothesechallenges,ithasbecomeessentialforconstructionprojectmanagementtoincorporateinternalcontrolsintheirmanagementsystems. Internalcontrolsrefertomeasurestakenbyanorganizationtoensurethatitsgoalsandobjectivesareattainedefficientlyandeffectively.Aneffectiveinternalcontrolsystemplaysacriticalroleinidentifying,assessing,mitigating,andmanagingrisksthatmightariseinanorganization.TheInternalControlBasicNorms(ICBN)issuedbytheChineseGovernmentin2008provideguidelinesonhowtoestablishandmaintainaneffectiveinternalcontrolsystem.ThispaperseekstoanalyzetheapplicationofICBNinconstructionenterprisesprojectmanagement.
