Antiviraltreatmentandprophylaxiswithanti-influenzaagentsaretypicallyusedtoreducetheseveremorbidityandmortalitycausedbyinfluenzavirus.However,itisnecessarytoidentifyeffectiveandsafeanti-influenzaagentstocombatthechallengesposedbyinfluenzavirus[4].Currently,theeffectivenessofanti-influenzaagentsistypicallyevaluatedusinginvitrocellcultureoranimalmodels,suchasferrets,mice,andguineapigs.However,thesemodelshavesomelimitations,suchasthetime-consumingandexpensivenatureofinvivomodelsandthepoorreproducibilityandhighvariabilityofinvitromodels.Consequently,thereisaneedforanimprovedanimalmodelofthediseasewithenhancedefficacy,reproducibility,andconvenience.
