Introduction TheDongpuDepressionisoneofthemajoroilandgas-bearingbasinsinChina.ThewesternslopebeltoftheDongpuDepressionisanimportantexplorationareaforoilandgas.TheSandThreeFormationisthemainreservoirlayerinthestudyarea.Theformationiscomposedofshallow-marinesandstone,mixedsandstone,andfine-grainedsandstone.Theformationiscontrolledbyacomplexfaultsystem,whichhasasignificantimpactonsedimentationandthedevelopmentofreservoirs.Therefore,thestudyofthecontrolofthefaultsystemonsedimentaryfaciesisofgreatsignificanceforoilandgasexplorationinthestudyarea. GeologicalSetting TheDongpuDepressionislocatedinthesoutheastoftheNorthChinaBasin,withatotalareaofabout4,300squarekilometers.Thedepressionissurroundedbymountainsinthenorth,south,andwest,andisopentotheeast.Thedepressionisdividedintothreeparts:thenorth,central,andsouthernparts.Thewesternslopebeltislocatedinthecentralpartofthedepression,andismainlycomposedoftheTertiarysedimentaryrocks.TheSandThreeFormationisatypicalstratuminthewesternslopebelt,andismainlydevelopedinthecentralpartoftheslopebelt. Thefaultsysteminthestudyareaiscomposedofthreefaults:S30,S20,andS10.S30faultisthemaincontrolfactorinthestudyarea.Thefaultzoneisabout3kilometerswide,withatotallengthofabout30kilometers.Thefaulthasanorthwest-southeastdirection,anddipstothenorthwest.TheS20andS10faultsaresecondaryfaults,whicharemainlydistributedonbothsidesoftheS30fault.Thefaultshaveasimilardirectionanddiptothenorthwest.
