Introduction: Acuterespiratorydistresssyndrome(ARDS)isasevererespiratorydisordercharacterizedbydiffusealveolardamage,leadingtoimpairedgasexchangeandsubsequentrespiratoryfailure.ThepathogenesisofARDSinvolvesadysregulatedinflammatoryresponseinthelung,resultingindamagetothealveolar-capillarybarrierandexcessiveinfiltrationofinflammatorycells.Despiteextensiveresearch,themanagementofARDSremainsachallenge. Mesenchymalstemcells(MSCs)haveemergedaspromisingcandidatesforthetreatmentofARDSduetotheirimmunomodulatoryandregenerativeproperties.MSCspossesstheabilitytomodulatetheinflammatoryresponseandsupporttissuerepair,makingthemattractivefortherapeuticinterventioninARDS.However,theprecisemechanismbywhichMSCsregulatelunginflammationinthecontextofARDSrequiresfurtherinvestigation. Methods: MaleC57BL/6miceweredividedrandomlyintothreegroups:control,ARDS,andMSC-treatedARDS.ARDSwasinducedinmicebyintratrachealinstillationoflipopolysaccharide(LPS).MSCswereobtainedfromhealthymiceandadministeredviatailveininjection.ControlmicereceivedsalineinsteadofLPS.Lungswereharvestedatspecifictimepointsforanalysis.
