Introduction TraditionalvillagesareanimportantpartofChina'sculturalheritage,whichnotonlycontainalargenumberofhistoricalandculturalrelics,butalsoretainmanynaturalecologicalresources.However,intheprocessofurbanizationandmodernization,manytraditionalvillageshavebeendestroyedortransformed,leadingtothelossofculturalandecologicalvalue.Therefore,theprotectionandrenewaloftraditionalvillageshasbecomeanurgentissue. Basedontheconceptofsymbiosis,thispaperaimstoexplorethedesignoftraditionalvillageprotectionandrenewal.TakingYangshaoVillageasanexample,thispaperdiscussesthesymbioticrelationshipbetweenmanandnatureandthesymbioticrelationshipbetweenpeopleandcultureintheprocessoftraditionalvillageprotectionandrenewal.Inaddition,somepracticalsuggestionsfortheprotectionandrenewaloftraditionalvillagesareproposedbasedonthepracticeofYangshaoVillage. 1.Theecologicalandculturalcharacteristicsoftraditionalvillages Traditionalvillagesarecharacterizedbytheiruniquenaturalandculturalenvironment,whichnotonlyreflectsthelocalhistoryandculture,butalsocontainsvaluableecologicalresources.Ecologically,traditionalvillagesareoftenlocatedinareaswithrichnaturalresou
