Introduction Thetraditionaldesignandconstructionapproachintheconstructionindustryhavemultipleproblems,suchastime-consuming,low-qualityoutcomes,andcostoverruns.TheemergenceofBuildingInformationModeling(BIM)technologyhasbroughtsignificantchangestothetraditionalapproach,enablingstakeholderstoaccesscomprehensiveandaccuratedataateverystageoftheproject.MEPsystemsarecriticalsubsystemsofabuilding,whichincludemechanical,electrical,andplumbingsystems.TheinstallationofMEPsystemsneedstobecheckedandverifiedthoroughlytoensurethatthesystemsarewell-coordinatedbeforeconstructionworkstarts.Inthetraditionalapproach,itwaschallengingtodetectclashesamongdifferentMEPsystemsduetothelackofcoordinationandcollaborationbetweendifferentstakeholders.TheemergenceofBIMtechnologyhashelpedaddresstheseissuesbyfacilitatingtheintegrationofdifferentdisciplines,suchasarchitecture,structure,andMEP.
