Carbonfiberreinforcedpolymer(CFRP)materialshavebeenshowntohaveexcellentmechanicalproperties,includinghighstrength-to-weightratio,highstiffness,andcorrosionresistance,makingthemapromisingcandidatefortheretrofittingofconcretestructures.CFRPsheetscanbeusedtoenhancetheaxialcompressive,flexural,shearandtorsionalbehaviorofreinforcedconcretemembers.Furthermore,theuseofCFRPmaterialsinretrofittinghasbeenshowntohavetheadvantagesofeasyinstallation,lowweight,andminimaldisruptiontobuildingusage.
