Introduction Rocksareessentialnaturalresourcesthatplayasignificantroleinvarioussectors,suchasconstruction,mining,andpetroleumexploration.However,rocks'integrityandstrengthcanbenegativelyaffectedbyvariousfactors,suchascyclicloadingandimpactforces.Water,wind,earthquakes,andhumanactivitiescancauserocks'damageandultimatelyleadtofatalaccidents.Therefore,itisessentialtounderstandthedamagecharacteristicsofrocksunderdifferentimpactconditions. Thepaperinvestigatedthecyclicimpactexperimentanddamagecharacteristicsofrocksunderstaticstressconditions.Theresearchaimedtoanalyzethedamagemorphology,mechanism,andstrengthofrocksunderdifferentimpactfrequenciesandimpactlevels. ExperimentalMethodology Thestudyconductedacyclicimpactexperimentonhomogeneoussandstonesamplestoinvestigatethedamagecharacteristicsofrocksunderstaticstressconditions.Theexperimentalmethodincludesthefollowingsteps: 1.SamplePreparation:Thepapercollectedsixcylindricalsandstonesampleswithadiameterof50mmandaheightof100mm,representingthenaturalcharacteristicsofrocks. 2.StaticLoading:Thepaperappliedastaticforceonthesamplesusingahydraulicjack,compressingthesampleswithastaticstressof20MPa. 3.Impactloading:Thepaperusedarepeatedimpacttestertoconductthecyclicimpactexperiment.Thetestercompressedasteelcylindricalrodontotherocksurfacewithdifferentfrequenciesandimpactlevels.Theimpactfrequencyrangedfrom1Hzto20Hz,andtheimpactlevelrangedfrom100Nto500N. 4.Damagemorphology:Thepaperusedadigitalcameratocapturethedamagemorphologiesofthesamplesunderdifferentimp
