Keywords:partialdischarge,blindsourceseparation,signalprocessing INTRODUCTION Highvoltageelectricalequipmentiswidelyusedinvariousindustries,includingpowergeneration,transportation,andmanufacturing.Partialdischarge(PD)isacommonandcriticalissueinhighvoltageelectricalequipment,whichcanleadtoinsulationfailureandequipmentbreakdown.Therefore,properdetectionanddiagnosisofPDsignalsareessentialforthesafeandreliableoperationofelectricalequipment. PDsignalsarecomplex,nonlinear,andnon-stationary.TraditionalsignalprocessingmethodshavelimitationsindealingwithPDsignals.Blindsourceseparation(BSS)algorithmshavebeenwidelyadoptedforPDsignalprocessinginrecentyears.BSSalgorithmsaimtoseparatethesourcesignalsfromtheobservedmixedsignalswithoutpriorknowledgeofthesourcesignalsorthemixingprocess.BSSalgorithmshavebeenproventobeeffectiveinseparatingPDsignalsfromnoiseandotherinterferingsignals. ThispaperpresentsacomprehensivereviewofBSSalgorithmsandtheirapplicationsinPDsignalprocessing.Thepaperisorganizedasfollows:Section2introducesthebasicconceptsofBSSalgorithms;Section3discussestheapplicationofBSSalgorithmsinPDsignalprocessing;Section4outlinesfutureresearchopportunitiesinthisfield;andSection5concludesthepaper. BASICCONCEPTSOFBSSALGORITHMS BSSalgorithmsaimtoextractindependentsourcesfromobservedmixedsignals.AssumewehaveMmixedsignals,eachofthemcanbeexpressedasalinearcombinationofNindependentsources: X=AS+N whereXisanM×Tmatrixofobservedsignals,AisanM×Nmatrixofmixingcoefficients,SisanN×Tmatrixofsourcesignals,andNisanM×Tmatrixofnoiseandotherinterferingsignals. ThegoalofBSSalgorithm
