Introduction Heatexchangersplayacriticalroleinmanyindustrialprocesses,suchaspowergeneration,chemicalengineering,andrefrigeration.Heattransferefficiencyisacrucialfactorthatdeterminestheperformanceofheatexchangers,anddifferenttypesofenhancementtechniqueshavebeendevelopedtoimprovethem.Onesuchtechniqueistheuseoftwistedtapeinsertsinheatexchangers.Thetwistedtapeshavebeenwidelyinvestigated,andtheresultshaveshownthattheycansignificantlyenhancetheheattransferperformanceofheatexchangers. Inrecentyears,researchershaveproposedvariousmodificationstothetwistedtapeinsertstoenhancetheirheattransferperformancefurther.Onesuchmodificationistheuseofsemi-circulargroovesonthesurfaceofthetwistedtape.Thesemi-circulargroovescanpromoteturbulenceandgeneratevortices,whichcanenhanceheattransferbyincreasingheattransfersurfacearea.Inaddition,thegroovescanalsoreducethepressuredropintheheatexchanger,whichiscrucialforimprovingtheenergyefficiencyofthesystem.
