Objectives: 1.Isolationandidentificationofendophyticfungifromtwoislandplants; 2.Screeningandanalysisofthesecondarymetabolitesproducedbytheendophyticfungi; 3.Evaluationofthepotentialbiologicalactivitiesoftheidentifiedsecondarymetabolites. Methods: 1.Collectionandidentificationofplantsamplesfromtwoislands; 2.Surfacesterilizationandisolationofendophyticfungifromplanttissues; 3.Identificationofendophyticfungibymorphologicalandmolecularmethods; 4.Fermentationcultureoftheendophyticfungiandextractionofsecondarymetabolites; 5.Separationandpurificationofthesecondarymetabolitesbycolumnchromatography; 6.Evaluationofthepotentialbiologicalactivitiesofthepurifiedcompounds,suchasanti-inflammatory,antioxidant,andantimicrobialactivities. ExpectedResults: 1.Identificationofatleasttwoendophyticfungifromeachplantspecies; 2.Isolationandpurificationofseveralsecondarymetabolitesproducedbytheendophyticfungi; 3.Identificationandcharacterizationofthechemicalstructuresofthepurifiedcompounds; 4.Evaluationofthepotentialbiologicalactivities,andidentificationofsomepotentialdrugcandidates. Conclusion: Thisstudyisexpectedtoprovidenewinsightsintothediversityandbioactivityofendophyticfungifromislandplants,andalsooffernewsourcesofnaturalproductsforthedevelopmentofdrugsandpesticides.
