/Thegardencangenerallybedividedintofourparts:thecentral,eastern,westernandnorthernpartsaccordingtothestyleofthebuildings.Thecentralpartisregardedasthebestpartofthewholegarden.Theeasternpartisfamousforitsstrangelyshapedstones.Thewesternpartisthescenesofhills.Thenorthernpartusedtobeavegetablegarden,butnowisusedtoexhibitpottedplantsofwhichtheSuzhoupeoplearequiteproud.ThecenterpartThewesternpartTheeasternpartThenorthernpartWithahistoryofmorethan400years,theLiuyuanGardenhaschangedhandsseveraltimes.Eachownerdidhisbesttoperfectthegarden.Itwasfirstbuiltin1593duringtheMingDynasty(1368-1644)byaretiredofficialnamedXuTai.DuringtheQingDynasty(1644-1911),itwasboughtbyLiuShu.Asacalligraphylover,hecarvedmasterpiecesonbothsidesofthecorridorsofthebuildings.Hehadalsocollectedunusually-shapedstonesinthegarden.Thesucceedingownersfollowedhismodelwhendoingrestorationwork.Almostdemolishedinthe1930s,thegardenwasrepairedsponsoredbythegovernmentandthenopenedtothepublic.这门厅正中屏门上嵌的一幅缀玉留园全景图。这是一九八六年时，为纪念苏州古城建成2500周年，由扬州工匠用2500枚各类玉石薄片相缀而成的。在全景图的上方高悬着一方(yīfānɡ)扁额，上面写着“吴下名园”四个大字，点出了留园在苏州园林中的地位。BuildingsplaytworolesintheSuzhouclassicalgardens.ThatisUseandenjoyit.
