Introduction High-intensityfocusedultrasound(HIFU)isanon-invasivemedicaltechnologythatutilizeshigh-frequencyultrasoundwavestotargetanddestroydiseasedtissues.Thetechniqueiswidelyusedinthetreatmentofcancersandtumorsinvariouspartsofthebodysuchastheprostategland,liver,andbreast.However,HIFUhasalsoshownitspotentialasamedicalimagingmodality,especiallyinthefieldofultrasound-basedimagingtechnology,orultrasoundwhole-focusimaging(UWFI). TraditionalimagingmodalitiessuchasX-rayimaging,computedtomography(CT)scanning,andmagneticresonanceimaging(MRI)haveseverallimitationssuchasradiationexposure,highcost,longimageacquisitiontimes,andlackofreal-timeimagingcapabilities.Conversely,UWFIprovidesanon-invasive,real-timeimagingofthetargettissuewithhighspatialresolution,andwithouttheneedforionizingradiation. ThisresearchproposestoinvestigatethepotentialofHIFUasanimagingmodality,specificallyinthefieldofUWFI,toprovideasafeandreal-timevisualizationofdiseasedtissues.Theaimoftheresearchistodevelopanovelimagingtechnologythatcanimprovetheaccuracyofdiagnosisandmonitoringoftreatmentoutcomes.
