我们家乡原来有一条清亮见底的小河，河底有许多五彩的鹅卵石，漂亮极了，小鱼小虾在河里自由自由地游玩。夏天到了，爽朗的小孩们都来这里游泳、打水仗。冬天来了,河面上结了冰,小孩们又会来这里滑冰。
但是有一天，这幸福、美妙的生活被打破了：河边建起了许多工厂，成天向河中排放污水、有毒的化学物质。因此，鱼虾离开了小河的怀抱，河底的鹅卵石被弄的肮脏不堪，小小孩们也不来这儿游玩了。每当人们从这里通过时，就皱起眉头、捂住鼻子。河里的水把村里的庄稼都害死了。小河如今变得臭气熏天，鱼虾都不见了。小孩们也不再来这里游玩了。
