Thispaperisacomprehensivereviewofresearchonthecomparisonofthemainclauseadvancementpatterninlinguisticmaster'stheses.Basedonathoroughliteraturereview,thispapersummarizesthefindingsofrecentstudiesonthetopicandanalyzestheadvantagesandlimitationsofdifferentresearchmethodsandtools. Theresultsofthereviewshowthatthemainclauseadvancementpatternisanimportantfeatureofsentencestructure,whichplaysacriticalroleindeterminingthemeaningandcoherenceofdiscourse.Therearethreemaintypesofmainclauseadvancementpatterns:subject-verb-object(SVO),subject-object-verb(SOV),andverb-subject-object(VSO).Comparativestudieshavebeenconductedonthedistribution,frequency,andfunctionalcharacteristicsofthesepatternsacrossdifferentlanguagesanddiscoursecontexts.
