Abstract:
ThisreportaimstostudythelocationselectionofChina'sdirectinvestmentinASEANcountries.First,weintroducetheeconomicrelationshipandinvestmenttrendsbetweenChinaandASEANcountries.Then,weanalyzethelocationselectionofChina'sdirectinvestmentinASEANcountriesfromfouraspects:geographic,political,economic,andculturalfactors.Finally,wesummarizetheresearchresultsandproposedirectionsforfutureresearch.
TheresearchresultsshowthatthelocationselectionofChina'sdirectinvestmentinASEANcountriesisinfluencedbymultiplefactors.First,geographicfactorsarethemainfactorininvestmentselection.Evenwhenpolitical,economic,andculturalfactorsarerelativelystable,geographicdistanceisstillthemainconsiderationforChinesecompanies'investmentdecisions.Second,politicalfactorshaveasignificantimpactonChinesecompanies'investmentdecisions.ThepoliticalstabilityofsomeASEANcountriesispoor,governmentservicesareunstable,andgovernmentsupervisionofforeigncompaniesisinsufficient.Therefore,insomecases,Chinesecompaniesaremoreinclinedtoinvestincountrieswithrelativelystablepoliticalenvironments.Third,economicfactorsareoneoftheimportantfactorsaffectingChinesecompanies'investmentdecisions.Forexample,theinvestmentenvironmentinsomeASEANcountriesisrelativelygood,andtaxesandlandcostsarelow,soinvestmentinthesecountriesismorefavoredbyChinesecompanies.Finally,culturalfactorshaveaweakimpactonChinesecompanies'investmentdecisions.
