美国研究型大学本科习明纳的创新型人才培养功能研究的综述报告 Introduction Innovationhasbeenidentifiedasakeydriverofeconomicgrowth,competitiveness,andprosperityfornationsandindividuals.Universities,particularlyresearchuniversities,haveapivotalroletoplayinshapingtheinnovationecosystem,astheyaretheprimarysourcesofscientificandtechnologicalknowledgegeneration.Thispaperprovidesacomprehensivereviewoftherolethatresearchuniversities,usingtheexampleoftheUniversityofMinnesota,playinfosteringthedevelopmentofinnovativetalentamongundergraduatestudents. TheUniversityofMinnesota:AResearch-drivenUniversity TheUniversityofMinnesota(UMN),locatedinMinneapolisandSaintPaul,isapublicresearchuniversitywithanannualenrollmentofaround50,000students,including31,000undergraduates.UMNisamemberoftheAssociationofAmericanUniversities,signifyingitsstatusasoneofthetopresearchinstitutionsintheUnitedStates. UMNiscommittedtoprovidingitsstudentswithatransformativeeducationalexperiencethroughhands-onlearning,researchopportunities,andexposuretodiverseperspectives.Theuniversityoffersmorethan140undergraduatemajorsacrossvariousdisciplines,includingengineering,science,business,liberalarts,andeducation.UMN’scommitmenttoresearchisdemonstratedbythefactthatitspendsover$1billionannuallyonresearchactivities. InnovativeTalentDevelopmentatUMN UMNhasimplementedvariousinitiativestocultivateinnovationandentrepreneurshipamongitsundergraduatestudents.Theseinitiativescanbebroadlyclassifiedintothreecategories:academicprograms,researchopportunities,andinnovationandentrepreneurshipprograms.
