Non-equilibriumplasmareformingofmethane(NPMR)isapromisingmethodforhydrogenproductionduetoitshighefficiencyandenvironmentalfriendliness.IntheNPMRprocess,methaneisoxidizedbyplasma-generatedreactivespeciesratherthanbythermalactivation.TheNPMRprocesshasseveraladvantagesovertraditionalthermalreformingmethods,includingfasterreactionrates,lowerreactiontemperatures,andfewerby-products.Asaresult,NPMRhasthepotentialtobecomeapromisingmethodforlargescalehydrogenproduction. Objectives: Theobjectiveofthisresearchistoinvestigatethenon-equilibriumplasmareformingofmethaneforhydrogenproduction.Thespecificgoalsareasfollows: 1.TostudytheeffectsofdifferentparametersontheNPMRprocess,includinggasflowrate,gascomposition,powerinput,andtemperature. 2.ToinvestigatethereactionmechanismofNPMRandtheformationofby-products. 3.TooptimizetheNPMRprocessforhighhydrogenproduction. Methodology: Inthisstudy,anon-equilibriumplasmareactorwillbeusedtocarryouttheNPMRprocess.Thereactorwillbeequippedwithadielectricbarrierdischarge(DBD)togenerateplasma.Thereactorwillbeoperatedatdifferentgasflowrates,gascompositions,powerinputs,andtemperaturestoinvestigatetheeffectsoftheseparametersontheNPMRprocess.Theproductionofhydrogenandotherby-productswillbemonitoredbygaschromatography(GC). ExpectedResults: ThisresearchisexpectedtoprovidevaluableinsightsintotheNPMRprocessforhydrogenproduction.Theresultswillcontributetothedevelopmentofcleanerandmore
