LiteratureReview Theliteraturereviewfocusedonthefollowingaspects:definitionsandconceptsofFDIandenvironmentalpollution,theoreticalandempiricalmodelsoftherelationshipbetweenFDIandenvironmentalpollution,globalandregionaltrendsofFDIandenvironmentalpollution,andcasestudiesofFDIandenvironmentalpollutioninGuangdongProvince.ThereviewfoundthattherearedivergentviewsonthenatureanddirectionoftherelationshipbetweenFDIandenvironmentalpollution,andthattheempiricalevidenceismixedandcontext-dependent. DataSourcesandResearchMethods Thedatasourcesusedinthisstudyincludethestatisticalyearbooks,environmentalreports,industrialsurveys,andtradedataofGuangdongProvince,aswellastherelevantnationalandinternationaldatabases.Theresearchmethodsusedincludedescriptivestatistics,correlationanalysis,panelregressionanalysis,andspatialanalysis.TheanalyticaltoolsusedincludetheGeographicInformationSystem(GIS),Stata,andExcel. PreliminaryFindingsandConclusions Basedonthepreliminaryanalysisofthedata,thefollowingfindingsandconclusionscanbedrawn: 1.FDIinGuangdongProvincehasincreasedsteadilyoverthepastdecade,withthedominantsectorsbeingelectronics,machinery,andchemicals. 2.EnvironmentalpollutioninGuangdongProvincehasalsoincreased,withthemajorsourcesbeingindustrialwastewater,atmosphericemissions,andsolidwaste. 3.ThereisapositivecorrelationbetweenFDIandenvironmentalpollutioninGuangdongProvince,withtheintensityanddirectionofthecorrelationvaryingacrossdifferentsectorsandregions. 4.ThefactorsthatinfluencetherelationshipbetweenFDIandenvironmen
