Introduction: Withtherapiddevelopmentofwirelesscommunicationtechnologies,MIMO-OFDMsystemshavebecomeapopulartechniqueforhighdataratewirelesstransmission.InMIMO-OFDMsystems,adaptivepowerandbitallocationalgorithmisanimportantapproachtoimprovethesystemperformance.Theobjectiveofthealgorithmistooptimizethesystemperformancebyallocatingthepowerandbitstothesubcarriersbasedonthechannelconditions. RelatedWork: TherelatedworkontheadaptivepowerandbitallocationalgorithminMIMO-OFDMsystemsmainlyfocusesontwoaspects:powerallocationandbitallocation.Intermsofpowerallocation,variousalgorithmshavebeenproposed,suchasthewater-fillingalgorithm,theiterativewater-fillingalgorithm,andtheadaptivesubcarrierpowerallocationalgorithm.Intermsofbitallocation,themostcommonlyusedalgorithmistheproportionalfairallocationalgorithm. CurrentProgress: ThecurrentprogressoftheresearchontheadaptivepowerandbitallocationalgorithminMIMO-OFDMsystemsincludesthefollowingaspects: 1)Optimizationofpowerandbitallocationalgorithmbasedonchannelestimationaccuracy. 2)Researchontheapplicationofmachinelearninginpowerandbitallocationalgorithm. 3)Researchontheperformanceofthealgorithmunderinterferenceandfading. 4)Investigationoflarge-scaleMIMO-OFDMsystemsandtheirimpactonpowerandbitallocationalgorithm. FutureResearchDirection: Inthefuture,theresearchonadaptivepowerandbitallocationalgorithminMIMO-OFDMsystemsshouldfocusonthefollowingaspects: 1)Optimizationofthealgorithmbasedondifferentchannelmodelsandchannelestimationmethods. 2)Researchontheapplicationofdeeplearningandreinforcementlearninginpowerandbitallocationalgorithm. 3)Optimizationofthealgorithmunderinterfer
