Background: Chiralcatalystshavebeenextensivelystudiedduetotheirabilitytoselectivelycatalyzeenantioselectivereactions.Chiralligands,suchasaminoacidsandchiralphosphineligands,havebeenwidelyusedinasymmetriccatalysis.However,theseligandssufferfromlimitationssuchassensitivitytomoisture,lowstability,andlowactivity.Therefore,itisnecessarytofindalternativechiralcatalyststhatcanovercometheselimitations. Ionicliquidshaveattractedconsiderableattentionassolventandcatalystmediabecauseoftheiruniquepropertiessuchaslowvolatility,thermalstability,andhighpolarity.Thecombinationofionicliquidsandmesoporousmaterialshasbeenextensivelyexploredinvariouscatalyticapplications,includingasymmetriccatalysis. Methodology: Theresearchfocusesontheimmobilizationofionicliquidsonmesoporousmaterialsandtheiruseasasupportforchiralcatalysts.ThesupportmaterialchosenisSBA-15,amesoporoussilicamaterialwithhighsurfaceareaandporesize. ThefirststepinvolvedthesynthesisofSBA-15usingasol-gelmethod.TheresultingmaterialwascharacterizedusingvarioustechniquessuchasXRD,SEM,andBET.TheSBA-15wasthenmodifiedwithorganosilanestointroducefunctionalgroupsonthesurface. Ionicliquidswerethenimmobilizedonthemodifiedmesoporousmaterial,andtheresultingmaterialwascharacterizedusingFTIR,TGA,andNMR.Thechiralcatalystwasthensynthesizedusingstandardmethodsandimmobilizedontheionicliquid-modifiedSBA-15. Results: ThesynthesisofSBA-15wassuccessful,andthematerialwascharacterizedusingvarioustechniques.ThesurfacemodificationofSBA-15wasalsosuccessful.TheimmobilizationofionicliquidsonthemodifiedSBA-15wasconfirmedusingFTIR,TGA,andNMR.Thesynthesizedchiralcatalystwassuccessfullyimmobilizedontheionicliquid-modifiedSBA-
