OneofthesewalksusedtotakethemdownanarrowsidestreetinabusypartofLondon.Itwasaclean,busy,friendlystreetwithbrightlittleshopsandshinydoorknockers.Neartheendofthisstreet,however,stoodadark,mysterious,windowlessbuilding.Thedoorhadneitherbellnorknockerandlookeddustyanduncaredfor.Dirtychildrenplayedfearlesslyonthedoorstep,andnobodyeveropenedthedoortodrivethemaway.
