Introduction: Propaneisanimportantfeedstockfortheproductionofpropylene,akeybuildingblockforvariouschemicalproducts.Theconventionalmethodfortheproductionofpropylenefrompropaneisthesteamcrackingprocess,whichconsumesalargeamountofenergyandgeneratesasignificantamountofgreenhousegasemissions.Theoxidativedehydrogenation(ODH)ofpropanehasbeenproposedasapromisingalternativetothesteamcrackingprocess.ODHofpropaneusesoxygenastheoxidanttoconvertpropaneintopropyleneandwatervapor.Whencarriedoutonasuitablecatalyst,ODHhasthepotentialtoofferhigherpropyleneselectivity,lowerenergyconsumption,andreducedgreenhousegasemissions. Cobalt-basedcatalystsareattractivecandidatesfortheODHofpropaneduetotheirabilitytoactivatebothpropaneandoxygenandachievehighselectivitytowardspropylene.However,thedevelopmentofefficientandselectivecobalt-basedcatalystsfortheODHofpropanestillfacescertainchallenges,suchaslowstabilityandfastdeactivation.Therefore,itisessentialtoinvestigatethecharacteristicsandperformanceofcobalt-basedcatalystsintheODHofpropaneandoptimizetheirstructureandcomposition.
