Nonrenewableenergysourcesinclude: Coal,NaturalGas,Petroleum,OilShale,TarSands,NuclearFission Nonrenewableenergyresources •Nonrenewabletypesofenergycanonlybeusedonce.Thereisafiniteamountofthesematerialsontheearthsotheywillrunouteventually. •Nonrenewableresourcesmakeupapproximately 95%oftheworld’senergy •Fossilfuels,likecoal,oil,gas,whicharefinite,andwilleventuallyrunoutareexamples.Oncetheyhavebeenuesdtheycan’tbeuesdagain •Fossilfuelsmadefromtreesandplants FossilfuelsingeneralGlobalwarmingandAcidrainParticulates-verysmallparticlesofdebrisfoundinsomeoftheairpollution-areoneofthemaincausesofhealthproblems.Intownsandcities,thesearereleasedmainlybydieselenginesfromcarsandtrucks. Whenwebreatheinairpollution,theseveryfineparticulatescaneasilyenterourbody,wheretheycancausebreathingproblems,andovertimeevencausecancer. Thewaterwedrinkfromtapscanbecontaminatedbyacidrain,whichcandamagethebrain.AcidrainEffectsOnWaterLifeAnexampleofacidprecipitationdamagetoanoutdoorstatue.Thestatue,madeofporoussandstone,wascreatedin1702aspartofthegableoftheentranceoftheCastleatHerten,nearReclinhausen,Germany.Theleftphoto,takenin1908,showssomestainsandthelossofthelefthand,butmostofthefaceandrighthandwereintactafter206yearsofexposure.Therightphoto,takenin1969,showsthelossofmostofthedetailofthestatueover61years Oneofthemostgrievousamongthevariousglobalwarmingeffectsonearthistheriseinsealevels,whicharethreateningtoencroachuponland.Ifthesealevelsriseitwillresultinawaterygravetoseverallowlyingareas,tinyislandsandreclaimedportionsofland.Sohowexactlyisitaffectingsealevels?Basicsofgeographicalstudiessug
