●Introduction Foundedin1984,ShandongUniversityatWeihai(SDUW)isacomprehensiveuniversityoffering degreesinthefieldsofeconomics,law,thearts,science,engineeringandmanagement.Theuniversity has14schoolsanddepartments,including43undergraduatedegreeprograms,37postgraduateprograms and9doctorateprograms.Morethan14,000full-timeregularstudentsattendtheuniversity,and600 studentsstudyatthepostgraduatelevel,workingtowardmaster’sordoctoraldegrees.SDUWemploysover 1,100teachersandadministrators,including688full-timeteachers,amongwhom379areprofessorsand associateprofessors. CarryingforwardthefinetraditionsandspiritofShandongUniversity,SDUWsupportsreformineducation byimplementingtheTrimestersystem.Inrecentyears,theuniversityhasconductedover300research projectsatvariouslevelsandonawiderangeoftopics,includingnationalProject973,nationalkeysocial scienceresearchprojects,nationalNaturalScienceFoundationprojects,majorprojectsoftheMinistryof Science,majorprojectsofShandongProvincetacklingtoughscientificandtechnicalproblems,andhas earneddozensofawardsatthestate-levelandtheprovincial-leveloraboveforresearchachievements. ShandongUniversityatWeihaisupportstheThreeExperiencesofeducation--experiencegained fromsocialpractice,studyingabroad,andstudyingonasecondcampus.Theuniversityhasestablished cooperativeandexchangerelationswithover50well-knownuniversitiesinU.S.A.,U.K,France,Sweden, Australia,SouthKorea,Japan,aswellasHongKong,MacaoandTaiwanregions.Theserelationships haveensuredthedevelopmentofsuchprogramsasthe1+2+1dual-degreeprogram,one-yearexchange program,half-yearexchangeprogram,one-yeardependentoverseasstudies,2+2dual-degreeprogram, 1+1+1dual-degreeprogram,3+1+1programandtheprogramofrecommendedoverseaspostgraduate studiestograduatingstudents.
