Thegrainsize(D)changeduringisothermalannealingiscategorizedintothreeregions,i.e.anincubation periodforgraingrowth,rapidgraincoarsening,andnormalgraingrowth.Thenumberoffinegrainsper unitarea,however,isreducedremarkablyeveninincubationperiod.Thisleadstograincoarseningtaking placecontinuouslyinthewholeperiodofannealing.Incontrast,thedeformationtexturescarcelychanges evenafterfullannealingathightemperatures.Itisconcludedthattheannealingprocessesoperatingin hot-deformedmagnesiumalloycanbemainlycontrolledbygraincoarseningaccompaniedwithnotexture change,thatis,continuousstaticrecrystallization.
