languageshavedifferentwordsandexpressionsforsomethings.Forexample,some
wordsforclothingaredifferent.Americansusetheword“sweater”,buttheBritishsay
“jumper”.Americanswear“vests”overtheirshirts,butBritishpeoplewear“vests”under
theirshirts.Americanstalkabout“pants”or“slacks”,buttheBritishtalkabout“trousers”.
TheBritishchipsareAmericanFrenchfries.ABritishchemistisanAmericandrugstore.
InBritain,ifyouaregoingtotelephonefriends,you“ringthemup”.InAmerica,you“give
themacall”.
Therearealsosomedifferencesingrammar.Forexample,Americansalmostalways
