Background Astheworldbecomesincreasinglyinterconnected,cross-culturalsensitivityisacriticalskillthatstudentsneedtopossess.Cross-culturalsensitivityinvolvesbeingawareofandunderstandingculturaldifferencesandadaptingtotheminarespectfulmanner.Itisanessentialskillforcommunication,collaboration,andbuildingrelationshipswithpeoplefromdiverseculturalbackgrounds. EnglishpostgraduatestudentsandEnglishundergraduatestudentsrepresenttwodifferentlevelsoflanguageeducation.PostgraduatestudentshavealreadyacquiredahighdegreeofproficiencyinEnglishandhavechosentospecializeinEnglishstudiesfortheircareerpath.Ontheotherhand,undergraduatestudentsarestillintheprocessofdevelopingtheirlanguageskillsandknowledge. Comparingthecross-culturalsensitivitylevelsbetweenthesetwogroupscanhelpusunderstandtheimpactoflanguageproficiencyandeducationleveloncross-culturalsensitivity. Methodology AsurveywasconductedamongEnglishpostgraduatestudentsandEnglishundergraduatestudentstogatherdataontheircross-culturalsensitivitylevels.Thesurveyincludedquestionsrelatedtotheirdemographicinformation,languageproficiency,theirlevelofexposuretodifferentcultures,andtheirattitudestowardscross-culturalcommunication. Thesurveyalsoincludedacross-culturalsensitivityscalethatmeasuredfivedimensionsofcross-culturalsensitivity,includingempathy,flexibility,openness,respectforculturaldifferences,andself-awareness. Results TheresultsofthesurveyindicatedthatEnglishpostgraduatestudentshadhigherlevelsofcross-culturalsensitivitycomparedtoEnglishundergraduatestudents.Postgraduatestudentsscoredhigheronallfivedimensionsofcross-culturalsensitivity,includingempathy,flexibility,openness,respectforculturaldifferences,andself-awareness.
